The winning essays featured impactful, thought provoking and radical ideas which showcased the vision, focus and conviction of the young minds of today. In the first phase, Speak for the Earth, a documentary showcasing the varied efforts of Tata companies to help preserve the planet, was screened to lend greater focus to the topic and provide a stimulus to the students to think.
The constitutional promise of equality, liberty and justice can be realised when dreams of young minds are translated into reality. This initiative taken by the Tatas to invite the young minds to write about how to build this country and transform socio-economic conditions is extremely welcome, further getting the young minds to express their views not only in English, but also in regional languages.
Accompanying this documentary was an audio-visual on the Tata Building India programme. Following the screening of these inspirational films, children from class VI to XII were asked to write an essay on the theme of the year in their respective language.
Going from strength to strength, the seventh edition of the competition has further expanded its reach to cities in India, covering over 6, schools and adding two new languages namely Telugu and Malayalam to the existing eight languages.
